Review Policy

Warning: Rarely do I accept unsolicited books for review. Feel free to send me an email, but please note that I am unlikely to respond or accept your request at this time. I do make exceptions, but only if it seems like a great novel. Unfortunately, no response means no. Best of luck!

My Review Policy is as follows:

I read books in the order that I receive them. The exception is if your novel has a release date coming up, in that case I will try my hardest to get your book read before that time).

If the release date is coming, please include that info in your email.

Also when you send your initial email, please tell me you've read my review policy as it will speed up the process.

Types of Books I will review:

·         YA/Christian fiction (my blog is mainly YA/Christian fiction, so this is really what I want to receive, however I will accept other types of books)

·         MG (not my preference, but I have reviewed a few MG novels on here and am willing to do so.)

·         Limited non-fiction (I’ve only reviewed one or two of these, but feel free to send me an email)

·         Adult Fiction (but be sure it make sure it meets me criteria, please)

·        New Adult Fiction (I do enjoy this, but make sure it meets my criteria)

·         Self-published/Indie (I do accept these.)

Genres I will review:

·         Historical Fiction

·         Dystopian

·         Chick-Lit

·         Romance (especially if it’s romantic suspense, but please make sure it fits criteria listed below.)

·         Adventure

·         Mystery/Suspense

·         Christian fiction (This is my guilty pleasure when it comes to reading, if your novel is Christian fiction, please email me. Especially if it’s romantic suspense)

·         Limited Sci-fi/Fantasy- (On occasion, I do enjoy this series.)

Note: These are just the ones I typically read, I may accept other genres.

Books I will not review:

(Or in other words, things that will make me not read your novel)

I’d like to start out by saying that I don’t mean to offend anybody with this list. If your book falls in this category, I still wish you the best of luck. I know there are great books that contain elements that will prevent me from reading them. I still wish you success with your writing; however, I will not read these types of books. Sorry. If you want, I can refer you to reviewers who read these types of books.

·         LBGT Romance (if there are gay/lesbian characters that's not a problem, but if the main character is LGBT and the book is about dealing with that or it's a LBGT romance, I don’t want to read it. I'm sorry.)

·         Erotica/Explicit sexual content (I draw the line at erotica or pornographic books. I do read a lot of new adult books and a lot of those books have sexual content. However, when it becomes more detailed, I end up skipping over those pages and feeling uncomfortable. If you have a question on whether or not your book is too graphic for me to review, please email me.)

Also, if you are uncertain if your novel fits in my review policy, please email me detailing your concerns.

I'm not scary and don't mind if you ask for clarification. Also, look at the books I’ve already reviewed on the blog. That’s a good indication of whether I will read yours or not.

What to expect from one of my reviews:

·         I will post a picture of the book, the title, author's name, and official summary posted on Goodreads and other general information.

·         I will organize my review by stating my rating, my overall thoughts/impressions, and a wrap-up. For a more detailed example, please look at any one of my reviews here on the blog.

·         I will also post my review on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. Upon author request, I am willing to post my review elsewhere (Smashwords, etc.)

·         For the most part I will review novels in the order I receive them, unless it’s an ARC and a publication date is eminent.

I will always try to have my review posted before the release date of the novel. Please tell me if your novel has a publication release date upcoming, and I’ll get it up before that date.

·         I review books for work and those books will always be given precedence over books that I’m asked to review. I also review lots of books for tours or for publishers with set dates for reviews; these will also take precedence. However, I will post at least one book I’ve received for review every week.

Also I usually feature these books in the weekly memes in which I'm a participant.

Additional Information:

I don’t expect to be compensated for these reviews in any manner.

I reserve the right not to review your novel if it violates my review policy or if for some reason I feel unable to review your novel.

If this is the case, (which hopefully should never happen and hasn't happened in the many years I've been reviewing novels), I'll delete the electronic file or return manuscript whatever is fitting in the individual situation.

By sending me your manuscript in any form, you agree to these terms. Please feel free to email me. I’m not scary, I promise. :)

(who is sorry this is such a long policy)
